The faculty and staff of SJN believe that every child has the potential to achieve. Our family-faith commitment to education using Differentiated Instruction allows him/her to reach his/her potential. Rooted in the mission of the Catholic Community of Saint John Neumann, we strive to create an inclusive learning environment to students of all faiths. All students receive religious instruction as part of the curriculum of the school. The religious education curriculum at SJN is consistent with the philosophy and goals established by the Diocese.

Our Awards:
In recognition of the outstanding achievements of our students, faculty, staff, and parents, St. John Neumann Catholic School (SJN) has earned the prestigious United States Department of Education Blue Ribbon Award in 1998 and 2008. These awards were presented in Washington D.C. by the Secretary of Education and the President of the United States. The Blue Ribbon Award recognizes schools that demonstrate superior academic achievement. To qualify, SJN students scored in the top 10% of the nation on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS).

blueribbon In addition, SJN is also the recipient of the Inviting Schools Award from the International Alliance for Invitational Education. The award recognizes the effort of the faculty, staff, students, and parents to exhibit ownership in their school. We are the only school in the diocese to receive both awards for excellence.

Our Principal, Mrs. Barbara Cole, was awarded the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) Principal’s Award for excellence in leadership. This award was presented at the NCEA Convention in 2008.
