Special area classes are offered daily for curriculum enrichment.
Our Library Program:
St. John Neumann Catholic School’s library houses over 15,000 volumes for circulation and over 250 reference books, which are searched and circulated using a fully automated system. Within the library’s walls, students discuss stories, research topics, and hunt for information. The librarian and the classroom teachers strive to maintain a partnership in order to provide an educational experience for the children. Through weekly visits for all students and access to the Accelerated Reader (AR) program, the goal is to create lifetime readers and library users.
Our Physical Education Program:
The Physical Education (PE) program at SJN is designed to encourage health and fitness, introduce various sports, increase fine and gross motor skills, and increase teamwork and cooperation.
Our Spanish Program:
Our Spanish Program is designed to teach students the Spanish language while exposing them to the art, music, culture, and geography of Spanish-speaking cultures.
Our Art Program:
Our Art Program encourages exploration of creativity using multiple media including collage, paint, and ceramics with a working kiln.
Our Music/Drama Program:
Our Music Program focuses on music theory and appreciation.
Each student participates in a grade-level play once a year. All have speaking parts to encourage confidence in public speaking.
Our Science Lab:
Students from PreSchool through 6th grade use our science lab to participate in hands-on experimentation and creation of original ideas.
Our Computer Lab:
Our state of the art Mac computer lab houses a class set of computers to be used to learn software applications and typing. In addition, Internet access is available for research reports and curriculum enrichment.
Our Discovery Center:
The Discovery Center uses small group instruction for enrichment and remediation.
Our Clubs:
To enrich our school, there are many opportunities for students to exhibit their talents, exercise their bodies, and sharpen their minds.
